Lately I find myself getting the urge to clean the office before a big project lands: Not in a clean-perfectly-to-procrastinate kind of way, fortunately, but in a more moderated mildly-unfuck-this-habitat way. Maybe it comes from knowing I won't have the time/energy to clean for however long the project will take (2–3 days, in this case) and wanting slightly more comfort during that time. Anyway, feeling significantly better after wiping the floor and picking up a little clutter.

@ljwrites i also often find a cleaner space helps me concentrate better bc it reduces distractions / the amount of sensory filtering i have to do, also

though i don’t always have the energy to pre-clean before big projects as much as i’d like

@Satsuma Yeah when I posted about cleaning on my other account someone was like ignore the clutter, everyone who's productive has a messy desk and I got a bit snippy, saying my brain does not filter environmental messes. I think that's the hardship for some neurodivergent people, not enough energy/organization to clean and too much sensory overload when things go uncleaned.
