question for cat owners: is a catnip toy a good gift for a new friend that has cats? or would there be a reason they might not give their cats catnip? (maybe a silly question, but i don't want to get them something they won't use!)
@brie like 10% of cats dont respond to catnip but if its a toy that would otherwise be fun for cats (which it is hopefully) there’s no reason they can’t still use it even if they don’t care about the catnip aspect
not aware of any reasons a cat owner would avoid giving a cat catnip — i guess its possible it could exacerbate some behavioral issues but i’ve never heard about that happening?
@brie yeah i think its genetic or something? cat’s are weird haha
of the cats i’ve had, all of them have been catnip likers — we even kept a potted catnip plant for two of them but i have a friend who’s kitty doesn’t react at all!
