insurance grumbles

just finished doing open enrollment for next year's insurance

we're switching to this "$0 deductible" plan which just has a shitload of co-pays. I am not looking forward to it.

apparently the co-pays are not only based on service, but also on the provider rating. so to see my pulmonologist, whom I need to see once a year to make the insurance people happy and keep my CPAP, it'll be a $70 USD visit. All, I suspect, because there are 3 reviews on their site of the guy, and one troll said he sucked (he's fine, he's nice and knows what he's doing; just a troll costing me more $$).

anyways I am just grumbling. I am grateful to have insurance at all (what a dystopian thought to have to have). just frustrating that it seems like it's going to be extremely arbitrary for the foreseeable future.

@greyor if there’s only three ratings maybe rating your guy positively will be a substantial swing in his total rating? annoying as hell that you have to do rating inflation scams on your drs in order to get affordable care tho…

@Satsuma will have to see, I was only able to preview the ratings/copays price since we switch Jan 1. Whenever I can I will. But yeah, it is a shitty system! Not off to a good start...
