Just now learning an SSD, usb flash drive, CD, or SD card might have around 10 years before it begins to degrade??? Guess you really do got to print some things out and back up your back ups.

@RAPIDPUNCHES only about 4% of CDs degrade, and generally if they’re going to they will *within* the first ten, so if you have a decade old disc that is functional it will probably remain so for ~100 years: loc.gov/preservation/scientist

@Satsuma @RAPIDPUNCHES Mind that this is about CD-ROM, and not, as far as I can tell, the CD-R (or worse, CD-RW) one would use for backups, which generally have a shorter lifespan.
