@Satsuma@glitch.cat.family Not if you have allergies they aren't!!!!

(They're the street trees around here, so there are
lots, and yeah they look nice in photos but... RIP anyone with hayfever, lol.)

@alis do cherry trees give off enough pollen to be an issue for that? most of the american trees which cause hayfever are wind pollenated (which is how come so much of it gets in the air) so don’t really have much by way of blossoms to appreciate

@alis (i do have allergies but i’d rather have the sniffles and bees than neither lmao)

@Satsuma@glitch.cat.family Honestly, I don't get it so I couldn't tell you, but Husband suffers at this time of year so I assume so?

But we have these, the poplars, the wattle, the olives, the casuarinas, the whole-ass flower festival... and we're in a very dry climate. So basically this city is just allergy hell in the spring, lol.

@alis i believe poplars and causarinas are wind pollinated catkins so i would blame them as the culprit before the cherry blossoms

i got allergy testing done about ten years back & they gave me a whole list of exactly which trees i’m allergic to which was kinda interesting. unfortunately sycamore was at the top which was the street tree in front of every house in my parents neighborhood 😂
