Wait vets just take care of any animals? Or do they have animal specialties? I dont have a pet i don't understand, an animal hospital can look after a dog as good as it can look after a budgie???

@nomo my vet just takes cats and dogs, there are also locally some farm vets who take horses, cows, sheep & goats. anything thats not a cat, dog, or farm animal is generally considered an “exotic”—some places keep one vet to deal with all of those, some people broadly specialize (eg, reptiles), and some just say “sorry we don’t do that”. i have never kept an exotic pet but i get the impression that if you want like, really good care and not just the bare minimum knowledge you have to pay a fair bit??
