genuine newbie fanfic writer question

is there a significant difference between "aged up" as a tag and "post canon" as a tag?

is it a matter of expectations or aesthetics?

@lolrengaymer i would only use aged up as a tag if i was specifically making them older than they canonically are at that point in time

so if they’re 16 in canon and your fic is set 4 years later and they’re 20, thats post canon to me but if you make them 20 during canon thats aged up. and if you set a fic 4 years post canon where they’re 24 (thus implying they were 20 during canon) thats both technically i guess
