when we got back from vacation last week, we discovered the cherry tree we were expecting to have been completely picked over by the time we returned was still mostly full of fruit because a catbird had been territorially chasing all the other birds off—he did not appreciate our thanks for his services as we picked the cherries ourselves 😂
