How did Canada manage to keep their signature dishes and desserts to themselves? It's interesting that I don't see much evidence of their popularity across the border. Maybe that's changing Seems like the folks in Upstate New York, Northern Wisconsin, and other locales would have adopted a lot of them.

@kimlockhartga

I recently went out of my way to order poutine in Gainsborough (Lincolnshire, UK), specifically because I had never seen it on a menu here before.

It was pretty alright, actually. Not enough curds ;-)

So, yeah, interesting question.

@kimlockhartga @AspiringLuddite we have poutine here in philly, and i’m pretty sure i saw it in chicago when i was visiting a few years back also

as for desserts, i’ve had nanonaimo bars?

@Satsuma @AspiringLuddite sounds like things are improving then, with more regional options. I'm glad. It's really hard to find any interesting cuisine where I live.
