@WelshAdventurer So, obviously I love it or I would've quit 595 entries ago. 😂

If I only used the base book, it would've gotten repetitive, but not enough to be a real problem. There's a ton of expansions, tho, and you can get the, all by backing the creator's Patreon, so I did that.

I reduce the timer

* with every card draw that gives me a chance at finding my selected reagent
* if the prompt says to reduce it further
* if I change search areas after the first one.

@WelshAdventurer

So, for instance, it's the start of the week and I just drew an ailment. It doesn't have a time limit so I set the timer to the default of 13.

I go to Hero's Hollow to search for a reagent with a target of 5.

Draw my first card and drop the timer to 12. Card is an Ace. I don't find the reagent. The prompt includes "reduce the timer by 2", so timer is now 10.

Draw another card. Timer goes to 9. Get a jack, so I find my reagent. I leave for the Loch. Timer goes to 8. Etc.

But if a prompt says something like "you find a map showing you the location of a reagent. Draw a card and take a reagent of that value", I wouldn't reduce the timer additionally for that extra drawn card. Likewise, you draw a new card when you get a joker, but I only reduce the timer for the joker, not for the replacement.

For plot purposes, I made up a reagent as "this exists but isn't available in the area where I'm playing".

I also invented two ailments for plot purposes. They were both ridiculously hard.

Re: side quests--I basically replaced the original suggested story ("what happened to the previous witch?") with my own main plot. And also added a bunch of side plots. So I'd say it's pretty easy. 😅

@rowyn i guess you DID address the main plot recently as well tho!

@Satsuma Yeah, I'd decided what had happened to her a long time ago and I figured I ought to work it in at some point. 😅
