@lookitmychicken 1) while twink has some connotations of body type, you do also have to present yourself the right way (in terms of dress, mannerisms, how you carry yourself) in order to fit the aesthetic
2) that aesthetic was one created by and for a particular subculture queer men
so while a straight man could, hypothetically, make a series of choices that would lead me to think they were a twink, i don’t think it’s something that really happens outside of eg. celebrities who are generally getting styled by other people anyway (and also “made me think they were a twink” doesn’t necessarily mean they are one)
@lookitmychicken yeah i don’t think we should go use his proclivity for twinkishness as like “proof” that he’s queer bc theres no such thing. And I know Korea has a whole bunch of stuff going on re:masculinity that I as a USian am not necessarily going to read correctly either.
But I also deff do not agree that being a twink is a neutral concept w/no relation to queer culture
@Satsuma YES THIS.
(And in Seungmin's case, he had to have the twink styled *out* of him to some extent. Trainee Seungmin was all-twink all the time. Which may have led to him not being featured as much as the others on the stray kids survival show. He didn't give a shit about being believably heterosexual. He just wanted to sing and dance and work hard and take care of everyone and be a good boy.)
