it's wild how much living in a car-centric way makes you sedentary! It hit me when my mom visited last year. She came along to walk Pixie and she went "wow, it feels so great to take a walk! I haven't walked this much in months."

This was a shock: we were only halfway through my normal morning walk, not even the long walk. It was maybe 200 meters, half the distance to the nearest bus or tram. For me, it's not an option to *not* do this exercise

@being yeah my daily commute includes a bit over two miles (3.5 km) of walking. I can cut some of that off by taking the bus instead of walking the whole way, but the wait means that ways usually actually slower, so why would I?
