Christmas
Sat down to write Christmas cards for the people on our street, it's a nice street.
Tuened on Radio 1's seasonal digital station just in time to hear Bruce Springsteen's classic "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," which I hadn't heard at all this year yet.

God I have to spell the word "neighbors" wrong so many times!!!
This is stressful.

And before anybody tells me that the British spelling is more correct and Americans ruined it, I invite you to consider that "neighbor" is a Germanic word (in modern German the word is Nachbar, no "u"!). Brits just thought because it ended "-or" that must be a USian thing like "color" and "honor" and they had to add the "u."
@bright_helpings honestly i kind of like the u in neighbor, just because the eigh is already such an absurd excess of letters that you may as well go all the way and double up on the second syllable as well? but this is definitely not a correctness argument, or even one that i think should play any bearing on anyone elses spellings 😂
