I need a new mattress.
Our current mattress is a dense foam thing from ikea. It has developed some divots where my wife and I sleep. This is not good.
Please tell me about any experiences you have had, positive or negative, with any given mattress brand.

@ajroach42 not brand specific but nothing gives me joint pain faster than memory foam. that ones 100% a bad idea with good marketing

@ajroach42 in a similar vein, a lot of the newer online-only mattress companies (casper, layla, purple, etc) started out selling latex mattresses (or latex layered with something else) at below market prices, which got them great reviews and then switched to other cheaper less comfortable/durable materials
Which I mention as a preface to saying my old, half latex casper mattress has held up fantastically, but I’m not sure that assessment holds up for any of the mattresses they currently sell
