i've been going for tuina sessions to try to un-fuck my chronic knee injury but the therapist pointed out that it's not normal to be experiencing pain in my ankle, knee, hip, lower back, mid back, and have shoulders and neck that are hard as rocks, and that those are actually because my arm muscles are super tight.

5 sessions later and a LOT of nightly foam rolling and lying on a hard massage ball, i suddenly know what it's like to have muscles that give way under my fingertips.

what it's like to move my hips without my lower back screaming in pain like rusty bicycle gears. and i can bend my knee freely without having to brace for the tearing feeling.

there's still a ways to go, my jaw and neck muscles still feel sore all the time, and there are still hard lumps in my neck and mid-back. but they're less like rocks, and more like pebbles. i'm still in chronic pain but less so, muted now, and honestly how was i living in so much pain all the dang time??
