So, AO3 have started using Cloudflare in order to help deal with the problems caused by the DDoS attack.
I wonder how they're dealing with FOSTA and SESTA compliance these days...

@Satsuma yeah, it is a bit. Though I'm unsure how feasible it is to build your own CDN these days to help with these sorts of challenges.
