I do NOT need to turn tea-drinking into another time consuming and skill-based hobby. but. I want to taste all the dimensions of the tea like you do in traditional gongfu cha! it sounds so appealing! https://thechineseteashop.com/pages/gong-fu-cha-the-complete-guide-to-making-chinese-tea
@soph_sol gongfucha is not that hard! And you can do it at the same time as doing something else, like say reading
@soph_sol @Forestofglory teahouse ghost ( https://www.youtube.com/@TeaHouseGhost ) has a pretty approachable series on the topic!
Honestly though, while having the right terminology is definitely helpful when it comes to figuring out whether you’ll like teas before buying them, once i’ve actually made the tea i try to prioritize my own tastes and experience over whats “right” in terms of paying attention. Anything thats important enough to impact your experience of the tea is important!
@Forestofglory
@Satsuma good to know that the rest doesn't have to be precise! I do already have a multi-temp kettle since I am already a step above the standard tea-drinking westerner in tea snobbery lol
@Satsuma
@Forestofglory ooh thank you for the rec, and the info!
