Do you use any of the following hashtags to FIND content on the fediverse? (I.e. do you follow these hashtags, or do you type them into the search box to see who's posting to them, in an effort to find artwork or artists to follow?)

@Curator i only use #/mastoart and #/pokemon to find stuff lol. very rarely i'll check #/art

@Curator @trashguts I think it's sad that "mastoart" is the main art tag. The fediverse is bigger than mastodon, and I don't think the platform matters when different platforms can interact.

@anke @Curator @trashguts Yeah, FediArt deserves more love. 😢 Mastodon kind of accidentally won on branding in the fediverse. -_-

@rowyn Genuine question: Why FediArt and not just Art?

@anke I think people like to show pride in the platform they're using? "Art" feels generic in a way that "FediArt" doesn't, even though the fedi part is obvious and could go unstated.

Follow

@Anke @rowyn i also feel like the more ‘generic’ tags are a lot more likely to see people linking to stuff, reposting, etc while FediArt is like ‘this is art i’m made as a member of the community’ so much more likely to be peoples own original work
