It is actually quite remarkable how accurate this map is 🗺️ :helpdescribe: :goose_hacker:

What regions are all my US friends from? :at_me:

@Crazypedia cascadia with family across cascadia/cascadia plateau ... wait omg i don't have an emoji for the cascadia flag :(

anyway, not sure it's totallllyyy right – I think I feel more aligned with Walla Walla and eastern WA ag than with e.g. Medford, Oregon down at the bottom of the green block. Certainly more aligned with central WA! but this is a tension in the region that I don't think you could totally make neat on a map

@Crazypedia @maya Chesapeake is swinging a little too high and not quite far enough west along the bottom of PA / NYC metro should be spilling out into PA more than it does here (and also i might let upstate NY bleed into the northeastern corner of PA slightly but thats a lot more controversial lol)

Anyway its an interesting level of granularity they’ve chosen — there’s definitely a culturally relevant higher level than this (I will absolutely say ‘mid atlantic’ re: where do you live q’s for example) as well as some very strong identity signifiers a level or two down (DelCo is a clear social identity distinct from the rest of the Chesapeake area. Is your associated metro region Philly, Baltimore, or DC? etc)
