@joonjuliet threads are welcome! but if you’re worried about being bothersome, some people will switch the post visibility from public (the globe) to unlisted (the open lock) after the first couple posts, so that they don’t put a ton of things into the shared timelines all at once
@joonjuliet ah yeah the name is a little confusing! unlisted is more public than a followers only post (which only your followers, or people you’ve @ mentioned can see) but less public than a standard public post. So an unlisted post wont show up on the local/federated timelines, or in any hashtags but it is visible on your profile and if its a reply to a public post it will show up in the replies to anyone who clicks through. They can also be boosted (retweeted) like public posts
@joonjuliet my replies were all set to the unlisted setting, if you want to see what they look like in practice :)
@Satsuma Why did I think I got it until I read this LOL So, basically, what?
@Satsuma oohhh how does that work? So like for example, if I do the head of the thread un public and the replies in “unlisted” would people be able to see the public one on their timeline and if they clicked they would see the “unlisted”? Is it like that? Or the “unlisted” cannot be seen? What’s unlisted? 😂💜 and thank u!
