I've read three Chinese webnovels where a male character was described as having a blood-red mole near the eye that added to his beauty and made him look incredibly seductive. Is such a mole considered a traditional mark of beauty or is it a danmei-specific trope that emerged or is it all just coincidence?

@troisroyaumes i dont have a source saved unfortunately but that sounds like mian xiang stuff — essentially placement / shape / etc of beauty marks is supposed to be reflective of certain aspects of a persons character or fate
