Why do people who you explicitly tell "you don't have to do X" then promptly do X? (not *quite* a rhetorical question)
@irina if always assumed it was an extension of the ‘dont think of pink elephants problem’ — if they’re task planning while you talk then its very easy for the ‘dont have to’ to get dropped as X is added to the top of the queue
