food

I'm trying to figure out what the most commonly eaten breakfast is here (which will be difficult because the most commonly eaten breakfast in the US is no breakfast, we only eat it a few times a week and many not at all, relying on coffee and a snack at the desk)

I have found lots of sites claiming we all eat pancakes and bacon and eggs and my friends, no one has that kind of time and energy in the mornings. I think most people just eat a cup of cold cereal and if you're fancy, maybe a bagel or quick egg sandwich

@pamela my unfortunate habit of passing out makes breakfast mandatory, and I’m fortunate enough (right now) to be able to reärrange my schedule so that I have time to do so comfortably most days

Usually it’s oatmeal with fruit or a fried egg on grits. If I have less time or just want a change of pace I’ll have yoghurt & granola — on days when I really don’t have time it’ll be putting an ensure and an apple in my pocket while running out the door but I never skip

re: food

@Satsuma oof yes passing out is bad. it sounds like you have a nice spread of choices! I like emergency frozen banana slices as a quick offering to the meat sack gods, to eat frozen or drop into milk and let thaw.
