I want a cookbook that's all just combinations of foods that cannot be cultivated in the same climates without major intervention. A set of truly international recipes.

@pamela you mean like anything combining peppers and cilantro? Or something more extreme?

@edebill @pamela both of those can be grown outdoors where I live without issue—they have different native ranges but their cultivation rages overlap quite a bit

@Satsuma @edebill yeah I'm thinking extremes, like things that only global trade provides even today, and this is such a weird thought experiment; I can think of almost nothing! Which is almost certainly a failure of imagination, but my own notes have no rhubarb taro pie or chocolate-covered salmon berry recipes. XD

@pamela @Satsuma banana with either rhubarb or gooseberries would fit.

How are we forgetting citrus? Most can’t take frost. Lots of cold water fish… Baked salmon with orange glaze. Rainbow trout with lemon butter.

@Satsuma @pamela here you have to grow cilantro as a winter herb because it bolts in the summer when peppers do well.
