genuinely cannot imagine wanting to be on twitter, or a successor to twitter, or a replacement for twitter, at this time
i’m not saying “ever”—there were times when i valued being in that kind of space—but not at this time
and i fundamentally have a hard time believing that anyone who does is a working-class person with loved ones and a job who deeply cares about and is deeply affected by the issues, because where are they finding the time
“this take was made by someone who is probably bourgeois and consequently beneath my notice” is a great strategy for not needing to waste energy being bothered by takes
@Lady i know what you mean, and i am not trying to convince you otherwise, but as always i think there's a very strong racial dynamic to it. Black Twitter was a huge source of support and connection to a lot of people, including many working class people. It's not just race of course, I was talking with a sex worker friend of mine about how SW twitter is currently flocking to Bluesky, but I think it's at its most distilled looking at Blacksky.
so whenever i see someone making a take praising bluesky for whatever, it’s true they don’t convince me anything one way or the other about bluesky, but they do convince me that they are probably bourgeois and consequently beneath my notice
