to have a Good Experience we need:

  • a way to post bookmarks for public consumption that is just as easy if not easier than posting on fedi (including boosting, editing) and integrates well with existing bookmark management tools without compromising privacy

  • a way to index both the bookmarks and their associated data and metadata (user supplied tags, etc) and the pages to which they refer

  • a fast and powerful and easy to use search engine over this data, including both 2010s style google spelling autocorrect but also literal, negation, and boolean operations

@akjcv surely if 1 can be done by hand then it can be done by machines

so i’d start by figuring out how to do 1 by hand and then focus on building 2 and 3

integrations to automate 1 can be done later

@akjcv (i’ll be doing the first part myself to publish my own bookmarks at some point, but i’m not interested in building indexers or search engines)
