Checked back in on my world anvil, which I tried out for a bit and just could not get into as an organizing tool, and found this incredible sentence:

I remember talking to my girlf and showing her this info box for some reason and her reaction just being "Ah, you and I approach things very differently" because I'm playing EXTREMELY fast and loose with dates and purposely leaving blanks at the edge of the map, as it were, and she's, like

I have to know every main character's lineage back 12 generations and I'm going to simulate the tectonic motion of the world so that I can place farmland in correct areas and figure out the common evolutionary ancestors to all the different genders of elf I have

Honestly I think for her the worldbuilding itself is the hobby at this point, I'm not sure she'll ever reach a state where she feels comfortable enough to write the story that takes place there
