The first time playing a new RPG I always find it hard to actually like have an idea for how I want to roleplay my character, I'm so busy learning the systems and the world and I want to see all the stuff that I don't even really pay attention, I just accept every quest and do every thing I can which means I usually end up playing a boring good guy by accident =P

@coriander BG1 really punishes not being a boring good guy which i kind of hate

@coriander like i'm playing a neutral evil character but the self-interested thing to do is just do all the good things because that's what the mechanics are geared towards

@Lady "My character doesnt really want to help, but they do want gold and a new sword, so I guess they will help"

@coriander “i would rather not pay through the nose for new supplies and have the guards attack me in every city so i guess i will not murder these nobles even though i really fucking hate them”

@Lady Which is also weird considering where that story actually goes, but definitely something the genre has improved on a LOT since then
