What was the actual justification for the discord username thing anyway?
Was it truly just that they decided one day that the 4 digit number was too hard for people to remember?
The one that is readily visible and can be copied to a clipboard instantly by clicking your picture in the lower left corner?
@swiff I genuinely don't think there was one, they just decided to do it

@coriander @swiff i think it was more about getting rid of special characters and punctuation and then saying “well if we’re going to be screwing over a third of our userbase anyway…”
