apple vision pro
okay but like can you pop open a UNIX shell and do some scripting or is “spatial computing” not really computing
re: apple vision pro
@Lady it can run iOS apps too, so if there's one that's a terminal then you can indeed do that. whether it's well-integrated into everything else is another matter...
re: apple vision pro
@KitRedgrave there are apps which can git and ssh but the filesystem restrictions and lack of ability to like install a program with homebrew in iOS make it very difficult to do anything beyond that
re: apple vision pro
@KitRedgrave you could ssh into a linux box and do dev work via the terminal there but like… this is apple. people like all-in-one solutions with a visual interface not solutions which require a separate machine and can only be viewed in a text terminal
re: apple vision pro
@KitRedgrave more realistically you can just project your laptop screen to the visual pro and just do the work on your laptop with a slightly fancier window manager
re: apple vision pro
@Lady or use vnc or similar to get a remote screen that way, yeah
re: apple vision pro
i am tired of apple releasing products which are not capable of piping a string of text between two small programs, a problem they solved decades ago
