@coriander WWI for baseball; WWII for football and other sports; NFL players weren't required to be on the field for it until 2009
@coriander we didn't even have an official national anthem until WWII apparently
@coriander but yeah the vibes definitely hit different with “fuck yeah let's kill the fascists” versus the Marshall Plan and everything which followed after
