@Lady I think I'd write "If you are running a small Mastodon instance, there's a good chance you don't have the funds to hire a moderation team like larger instances do. (Whether they *do* hire moderation teams with that money is a different story.)"

if your instance has five people or less you really don't need to worry that much about moderation unless you have some Very Popular Users; your posts simply don't get that much reach
i mean you still want to moderate of course but it's a matter of blocking the biggest worst offenders and maybe keeping an occasional eye on the fediblock tag
bigger instances NEED to moderate more, because bigger network, so of course they do, so i can see why someone might want to piggyback off of them… but also they frequently are not up to that burden and really need better tooling themselves
