honestly there is a perverse part of me which is loving checking out all of these miski/plemmo admins who are upset about people abusing their services and having to justify their hardline open‐regs stance in the face of it
because, just to be clear, many of them i have seen are *very* upset and banning with prejudice
« Who's the ⸺ making accounts on everyone's instances and spamming people with @'s? » says one admin
« if you're going to abuse the services I provide without even speaking to me, then I will likewise not speak to you before I remove you from my services » says another
while average users may differ, generally speaking shitposter/freezepeach admins and mastodon admins both take comfort in the mutual disconnectedness of their circles and are not fond of anyone who tries to stir up shit between those groups
and it’s been this way since the GNU Social days
most people even on shitposter instances just want to have a good time and don’t want to constantly have to deal with drama and inter‐community attacks because of some rando spamming shit for the lulz
especially not if they, as an admin, are personally responsible for said rando’s actions
