If I wanted to play one of the Link games, and I've never played any of them, which game should I start with?

It depends on what you're after.

Link to the Past is my favorite one, it's very old and 2D, but it's not absurdly hard like the earliest ones. Still, it might be a little hard, later on. But it does ease you into it pretty well.

Ocarina of Time, everyone loves, big open world. But it's also a little dated.

I'd probably also suggest Wind Waker; gameplay is similar to Ocarina of Time but a bit more refined, but the world is a bit less wondrous. Still charming though.

And then I'm sure a lot of people would suggest Breath of the Wild, which I still haven't played yet, but which I understand, formula wise, is extremely different from past games.
