@wallhackio Smash x2, basically. I enjoyed other Rayman games (played a lot of Rayman and the various levels on the Rayman Gold collection, plus probably 10+ hours of Rayman Advance though I never had a GBA of my own), played the in-store demo(!) of Metroid Prime, and spiritually I feel like I'm familiar with Stardew Valley from Harvest Moon but haven't actually played the former myself.
@wallhackio I played a moderate amount of some Sonic game (on a Sega console) at my orthodontist, I guess, too, which was maybe Sonic the Hedgehog 2? But due to the location, never really made progress as such.
@wallhackio bangers!!! I havent played rayman 2 or battlefield 1 but i know the rest of these are incredible, so maybe i should check them out
@Lucy Battlefield 1 is the kind of game that takes 200 hours to get the hang of so play at your own risk lol
rayman 2 is an easy recommendation, very accessible controls for a 3D platformer from that era and the art style and atmosphere still stand the test of time. I grew up with the PS1 version but the Dreamcast version is the best way to play it. I cannot recommend the N64 version as the MIDI soundtrack does the game a disservice
If the prompt is "a the 9 games that shaped me into who I am" then this isn't exactly a list of my favorite games as it is the games that impacted me the most (although this list does have a lot of my favorite games)
Like everyone who does this there are a ton of games I left out. I could make a case for Mario Kart Wii, Baldur's Gate 3, Balatro, Subnautica, Super Mario World, and Neon White and I am sure there are plenty more
