Indie devs love to be like "Come play my new action game!" and every time I have to tell them I already didn't like the gameplay of Hades, there's no way I'm going to enjoy their knockoff of Hades

Then all my friends refuse to believe I didn't like the gameplay of Hades, but it's true

I think that game should have just been a VN

I adore the writing in Hades, the art style, the atmosphere, the character designs, everything

Except the gameplay

@coriander hades to me felt like an action roguelike made by people who didn't like the genre

I liked the game fine but for everything surrounding the core gameplay loop

@wallhackio The entire game was literally just a response to people (myself included) not grasping that Pyre was meant to be replayed a bunch of times to get all the stories

They saw people play Pyre once and then put it down and went "Well, damn, if y'all're gonna be like that, we'll MAKE you replay the next one"
