I still need to practice parallel parking again because I literally have not done it since my road test like 12 years ago and in drivers ed they taught me some stupid way to do it that involves pinning the wheel multiple times, which is foolproof for the test but is not how you would actually parallel park (I know how to parallel park, they just didn’t teach it as a fluid motion with the car moving, instead they had me pin the wheel with the car stationary to turn towards the curb, and then stop and pin the wheel in the other direction to back into the space)

@The_T line up your right side mirror with the drivers door handle of the car you’re going to park behind, reverse while cutting the wheel sharply to the right towards the curb until your mirror is about aligned with the bumper of the car in front of you, then cut the wheel hard to the left and continue backing in until your car is pretty much straight or as far back as you can go. then pull forward and straighten as needed

@wallhackio @The_T in drivers ed they taught me to like… turn the wheel all the way to the right while your car is stopped (very bad for your car) and then once the wheel was near the curb stop and rotate the wheel like 2.5 turns to the left or something. in real life you’d do the whole thing with the car slowly reversing while turning

@wallhackio @The_T oh and you’re supposed to put on your right directional before you enter the spot and put on your left before you leave the spot
