People hated the fact that L3 gets connected to the Millennium Falcon as a way to "save" her by trapping her inside the body of a ship and removing all of her agency
While I would never argue that that is not what happened, as a storytelling device I actually love it because it's a perfect illustration of how droids are treated in the Galaxy Far, Far Away
It's sick and it's horrifying and the movie just moves on from it
I don't think, by any means, it was an INTENTIONAL choice to try and provoke this kind of horror at the fate of a sentient being but, again, that only makes it better from my point of view
