Me: I haven't seen it but I know what Wicked is
My Dad: (explains the premise of Wicked to me anyway)

I heard shame creep into his voice when he heard I haven't even seen the Wizard of Oz....

admittedly part of that is on me, but isn't part of that on him not showing it to me while I was growing up?

@lapis yeah i'd say it's more on him since most kids are shown wizard of oz by some adult or another

Follow

@lapis @holly the first half of wicked is the good half so just watch the movie adaptation that came out last year, which was good

@wallhackio @lapis fwiw i meant i think lapis would like wizard of oz. never seen wicked. counter to my type i'm not a big fan of musicals

@holly @wallhackio i do like musicals though

Little Shop of Horrors on a summer vacation was my descent into theatre gay (To be clear I was in the audience Ive never been in a musical)

@lapis @wallhackio in uni a friend of mine got me to go see a performance of evita he was in and while some of the songs were fun the whole thing kind of went way over my head :P

@holly @wallhackio my big problem with plays and musicals is that you basically have to see them in person and as a person who uh does not live in new york (and couldnt theoretically afford broadway) you get the short end of the stick unless it gets a movie version

but PBS has your back for some stuff!

pbs.org/video/twelfth-night-17

anyway PBS aside that is why no one will ever make me feel bad about watching bootleg plays or musicals
