Liking multiple sports teams in the same league is allowed IF AND ONLY IF you limit the number of teams to 2 AND each team is in a different division AND if/when the two teams meet, you have a clear preference for one over the other
For example: I love the Baltimore Ravens up until they kick off against the Detroit Lions, at which point I wish a blight upon their crops for about 3 hours

Switching team alliances is NEVER allowed. You ride or die with the team you liked when you were 8.
You can't switch your allegiance BUT if you don't already have a second team, you can use that slot for whatever team you would switch to, provided they meet the above criteria
In the event you follow a sport with more than two divisions (I don't know of any but i wouldn't be surprised to find they existed out there somewhere), then the number of teams you are allowed to like is equal to the number of divisions in the league
For motorsports, throw all of the above out the window and get a fresh sheet of paper because if you thought it was complicated before, hoo boy,
Motorsports is like
Most of the guys you're at least okay seeing them win
You have a hierarchy of guys you actively like
And there's one or two dudes you are hoping will blow an engine every week
But in general it's more about the race itself than who wins
For me as long as Denny Hamlin doesn't win, I don't care that much about the outcome of a NASCAR race, I just want to see great action on track
But if Ross Chastain or Bubba Wallace take the checkers, well, that's even better
