@vaporeon_ @wallhackio nah, sometimes you can see an underlying stripe pattern on black cats. but they are all homozygous recessive for the Agouti gene (dominant allele gives stripes) so I don’t know what the faint stripe pattern comes from
@cam @vaporeon_ she was a stray my cousins raised themselves so we don't really know her lineage

Admittedly, I haven't seen many cats in my life and don't go outside very often, but all the stray cats I've ever seen were shorthair ones...

@wallhackio @vaporeon_ yup! it’s less common than short hair, I think long hair is a recessive trait
@wallhackio @vaporeon_ yeah, basically every cat is either a domestic shorthair or domestic longhair unless they have papers from a breeder
