@vaporeon_ I don't care about these things much anymore because code formatters are really good at fixing these things if you don't like something you settled on
I use 2 spaces currently so my code takes up less space but I'm not married to it

@vaporeon_ I've only done this with JavaScript, we didn't use a formatter for our Java code at work for some reason. Deno comes with a built-in formatter because Deno is the eighth wonder of the world, and that formatter is primarily what I've used
I've also used eslint and prettier as a JavaScript formatter. I didn't like eslint. Prettier is fine
