death note's been in my youtube alrogithm recently so i've been having run ins with two types of guy i dislike:

- people who are still angry in 2025 because they think that it should have ended halfway through
- people who think light is a hero

death note

i've actually seen people claim that it was going to end when L died but it continued on anyway as a, fucking cash grab or something

which. one of the first things ryuk says to light is "since you're the first human to pick up and use my notebook, when your time comes, it'll be my duty to write your name in mine"

there is no way the story could have ended other than ryuk killing light

death note

i can understand why someone would think "they shouldn't have killed L". i cannot understand "when L dies stop reading, that's the point when the series should have ended". like. you can have stories where the bad guy wins but there's nothing satisfying about light winning, it doesn't say anything.

"light inherently believes that he is better and smarter and cooler than anyone an earth because he is a cop's perfect son. when he gets the power to kill people remotely he uses it to enforce his will on those he deems unworthy. the deeper he digs himself into this rabbit hole the more and more he does things that even he believes are evil, because they're for what he imagines to be the greater good. killing of innocents, manipulating anyone close to him. and then he gets away with it"

anyway i've started telling people who say light is a hero that you're not supposed to post youtube comments until you're 13 years old

@monorail people who think light is a hero are just like people who like Walter White from breaking bad. When I watched bb I could not believe people actually root for Walter he is such an awful human being almost from the start
