Piggybacking on holly hop's thread, but I think the preponderance of BG3 fanfic pretty conclusively illustrates that video game audiences are still willing and able to engage imaginatively with a game beyond what is immediately presented to them if the game is good enough to provide that initial spark

And that's pretty sweet, it's nice that there's games out there that can do that and people out there who will go the extra mile
