The most plausible result I'm finding is Tumblr posts by the author about the setting on Nobilis, and while it seems plausible it also seems like a rabbithole to follow if I'm not sure...
@gaditb Ninuan is a name for the Not, for the Lands Beyond Creation, in the setting of Nobilis/Glitch/etc. Glitch introduces the notation of λ-X for a Not-X, for an X that does not exist in the Not.
an example it gives is that a Not-apple does not have a color, but the color it does not have is red. (of course, if you were to instead say that the color that it does not have is green, you would merely be speaking of a different λ-apple).
the things of the Not are aware, but mostly just self-aware. nigh solipsistic. and the Not is a nowhere not of causality but of correlation. a λ-cow can be said to graze upon a particular λ-field not because it went to that field and chose to graze there, but because it dreamed itself as a cow that eats from a field and the λ-field dreamed itself a field being eaten from by a cow, and these dreams aligned with each other.

But "they have that particular λ-gender" means the co-incidence of "that particular λ-person is currently dreaming [them]self as a person having a gender such as that" and "that particular λ-gender is currently dreaming itself as a gender being had by a person such as that"
..?
@gaditb time is of Creation. so you need not worry about that sort of simultaneity. it will be dreaming itself appropriately at the same time, because that is what would make it the same time.
