I was unsure how much I'd like a Pokémon without the characters that I'm familiar with, but so far, I'm liking it!
No Clodsires yet, but I hope they'll appear at some point

@aescling Chili, like the spicy pepper? At least that's less confusing than having two girls with similar-sounding names
And yes, I assume the subtitles use the Japanese names for everyone
@vaporeon_ yes. "rika" is purresumably short fur "paprika" (i did not catch this until i saw it suggested on bulbapedia)
i'm not sure why they call her that tbh; in the game she's pretty chill, if maybe a bit intimidating
@aescling Yeah, personally I would associate Chili with a trainer of Fire-types and not of a Ground/Poison type...
@aescling @vaporeon_ tons of Pokémon characters, especially gym leaders and Elite 4, are named after plants. Possibly all, I'm not sure.
@aescling They have a girl named Liko and a different girl named Rika? The names sure are confusing... (But I'll probably get used to it if I watch 100 episodes of Pokémon journeys)
