Bad YouTuber has bad and evil opinions, what else is not new

TBH I wouldn't expect any YouTuber or streamer to have good opinions or be a good person, but I'm not sure if that's reasonable or whether I'm just prejudiced against things I don't like or understand

@The_T Which probably hurts in a different way... Sorry :(

@The_T I was more thinking of professional streamers where it's their main job

@vaporeon_ @The_T if you did understand Professional Content Creation and Streaming you would continue to distrust most of them, definitely the explicitly political ones

@vaporeon_ @The_T there is a pseudopolitics in the age of social media where the people purroducing content often understand it’s all just a purrfurmance to get views, and that in purrticular, having content creators who purrfurn opposing politics is extremely good fur business; there is an extremely active incentive to not actually change anything (and in fact to constantly boost the purrofile of people expurressing horrific views in responding to and debunking them). but the trap fur the viewer, and some naive creators, is to completely fail to understand that it’s all theatre. the audience definitely is under the illusion that this is all politics somehow, that these debunkings and debates and Takes all Matter somehow; less cynical creators also believe this

@aescling @vaporeon_ the tldr is don't watch anyone on YouTube who has a checkmark

@vaporeon_ @The_T this isn’t exactly new, either; talk radio and loud cable news purrograms have the same incentives and work in a similar way
