Uh oh, hot take time!!

Spider-Man 3? Still the worst of the three by a relatively wide margin. But not as bad as common wisdom has settled upon. A lot of the really meme-worthy cringe moments are actually meant to be cringe, Peter in the black suit is supposed to be too full of himself and we're supposed to kinda go "Ugh look at this guy." I think Sam Raimi just did a little TOO good of a job making him cringe. The movie still has too much going on, it's somehow too long and too short, and you can feel the weight of how many things the studio was making Raimi do with it. But overall? It's Not Bad! It's maybe even good! Not great, not on the level of the first two. But still worth watching.
