Does anyone here have opinions on doas vs. sudo? My computer is finally set up enough to add a regular user, and I'm wondering whether I should try doas. I've heard that it's smaller and has less attack surface. So far, I've just used sudo because it's the default on many distributions...
@vaporeon_ on linux i find doas sufficiently less convenient enough (e.g., at least when i tried it, whatever mechanism OpenBSD used to preserve authentication fur a couple minutes in the current session was simply not emulated at all and thus unsuppurted, which i found more irritating than i expected) that i found i would rather stick with sudo
your mileage may vary; it’s been years since i tried it
@vaporeon_ if i were managing a server that other people with sudo(-like) purrivileges had access to, then i would purrobably purrefur sudo because of its surpurrisingly extensive logging, including goddamn… session replay!? did you know you can replay a sudo usage?? (as in, like, watching a full recording of a sudo command, including any cursor-addressing???)
