I think Matrix (or XMPP + encryption) need support for custom emoji... Custom emoji are very useful for expression in a group chat...

I'm looking specifically for desktop client that I can compile and run on my machine. (First reason being that Firefox is awfully slow on older devices, and the second reason that I delete cookies and such every time I close the browser, which browser-based Matrix isn't happy with...)
